Meet Kate

Hi there, my name is Kate Reil and I am so glad you are here.

I support people tuning in to their internal rhythms to facilitate more ease, wellbeing, and joy. I am in complete awe of each body’s innate wisdom and ability to heal, and am honored to be a part of the process.

I am a collaborator, a witness, and a capacious listener here to support you on your journey being human. I am here to remind you that there is nothing to fix and you are perfectly whole as you are right now. You are the absolute expert on you and your lived experiences, and your body is inherently brilliant beyond any intellectual understanding. Your body is a vast storehouse of memories, encounters, and dreams. I believe that both Chinese medicine and yoga practice can facilitate another pathway to who you are and who you are becoming.

Healing is not linear— sometimes frustratingly so!— and yet because of the meandering route you may be taking, there are also many entry points for better understanding what’s going on as well as numerous possibilities for change. I firmly believe in meeting you where you are in each session and moving at the pace of your body’s trust.

My practice is trauma-informed with an anti-oppressive lens. I am committed to a lifelong process of growth that recognizes healing and justice cannot be separated. In co-creating a healthier environment for healing, I hold a radically expansive vision for what is possible in our world.

My path is one of detours and serendipities— perhaps much like yours. Before becoming a Doctor of Chinese medicine I taught yoga and mindfulness practices to young people in schools and community organizations all over NYC, and then trained folks all over the country too. It was through my students’ insightful questions and reflections that I came to study Chinese medicine.
